Rousing pōhiri for Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall

Prince Charles and his wife Lady Camilla were welcomed onto Tūrangawaewae Marae with a rousing pōhiri.

The Royal couple and their entourage were visibly impressed by the event and the number of people who participated.

Thousands have converged at Tūrangawaewae Marae for the Royal visit.

Māori Television is broadcasting exclusive live coverage of the event which is hosted by Matai Smith.

The couple will be treated to a number of special performances throughout the day and Prince Charles is expected to deliver a speech to the gathering at around 12:30.
