Siblings honour their mother at Waka Ama Nationals

Just like her mother, Kahurangi is coaching and helping the midget Tūrangawaewae teams.

Younger sisters Teina and Roimata are paddling in the teams who have all been named after their mother Tuhituhi for the nationals, while brother Te Ranga is paddling in the J16 section.

Roimata is only 9 but this is her fourth nationals, and she's also following in her mother's footsteps by taking on a leadership role in her team.

Kahurangi will swap her coaching hat for a paddle later on in the week and she knows her mother will be with her, as well as her siblings and club.
