Silver Ferns a force to be reckoned with

Silver Fern veteran Jodi Brown says they have a new unpredictable style of play and could be a force to be reckoned with at this year's World Championships.

The Silver Ferns squad touched down in the Capital today with bibs up for grabs ahead of their match against Fiji.

It's a changing of the guard, and the Silver Ferns are taking a leap of faith.  Brown says, "I think we are a bit unpredictable, we've got 6 players that haven't been to a world champs which is very unusual, so I think we come with the unknown."

At today's training run we saw Brown partnered up with Bailey Mes in the circle.

"Now we are really starting to build those combinations with me and Maria playing GA and the other two at GS," adds Brown.

So we could be seeing the debut of Malia Paseka against Fiji.  Coach Waimarama Taumaunu says, "We'll be basing it on trying to get different people settled in a test environment and giving them time to get used to each other."

Kayla Cullen says, "It's something that we aren't used to, it's very aerial and athletic but I'm enjoying it and it's very brave of Wai to do that."

But it's most likely that we will see Maria Tutaia pair up with Bailey Mes in the ciricle, with Paseka on the bench.

The Silver Ferns play Fiji tomorrow at Te Rauparaha arena in Porirua.
