Earlier this month, Six60's album release, "Six60 (Deluxe)", opened at No. 1 on the album and New Zealand album charts. On top of that, they already had 13 singles in the New Zealand Singles Chart, including the No.1 spot for their latest popular song, "So High".
Upon the release, five main arena shows were organised for Six60 fans, which quickly grew to six, and now they've added another six shows to meet the huge demand.
"All the boys are taken back by how quickly the shows on the May tour have sold, to be honest, we were worried that they wouldn't sell at all because we haven't played in NZ in over a year and weren't completely sure what the reaction would be, hopefully this means fans are enjoying the new tracks and we can't wait to get out on the road and rock them out at full noise.
We're all mad sports fans so as we were watching the Black Caps doing so well, and ticket sales doing the same we just thought it would be a nice thing to put on a few more shows in some smaller towns around the country if they made it through to the final, It was a tough loss last night, but I think it's safe to say the whole country is extremely proud of our boys and the way they've represented our country, hopefully the news of the extra shows has cheered a few people up today, and we look forward to seeing everyone on the road in May." - Six60.
SIX60's shows at Vector Arena in Auckland, two Shed 6 shows in Wellington, and Claudelands Arena in Hamilton have completely sold out with limited tickets left for the Christchurch and Dunedin shows. Yesterday, the extra six shows were posted on their facebook page:
