Smear Your Mea campaign targets kapa haka regionals

A campaign to encourage women to get cervical smear tests done before they perform at kapa haka regionals has gone viral across the country.

Renowned kapa haka performer Talei Morrison is driving the campaign after being diagnosed with cervical cancer last year.

In New Zealand, 200 women are diagnosed with cervical cancer each year and 70 women die from the disease.

Morrison is encouraging women to get themselves checked.
