South African squatter camps battle housing shortage

There are thousands of people living in squatter camps because there isn't enough housing. Huts have been built to help counter the issue.

The huts are made out of corrugated iron which heats up immensely making it very difficult for those living inside.

Most of the people who are living in these poor conditions are unemployed. Some of the residents who reside in the camp have grown a very ill way of thinking towards the government.

It has become clear that people are scared of what lies ahead and the circumstances that may come about since Mandela's passing.
