Superb year for Langman at Inaugural Netball New Zealand Awards

Māori Netballer Laura Langman won all the top awards at the inaugural Netball New Zealand Awards last night.

Langman has not missed a game for the Silver Ferns since her debut in 2005 playing a total of 131 consecutive games since then.

This will also be Coach Waimarama Taumaunu's last year with the Silver Ferns after coaching the team for four years.  She says, “I hope we continue to develop depth.”

Māori athlete Kayla Cullen won the first award of the night and is a fan favourite.  Cullen produced one of her best seasons yet after returning from knee reconstruction.

In the ANZ Player of the Year section, four outstanding players were nominated with Langman winning the title.  Magic coach Julie Fitzgerald won the ANZ Championship Coach of the Year.

Te Aroha Keenan won National Coach of the Year.

Langman also took out the Silver Fern Player of the Year award, her personal game stats proof enough for the accolade.  Her winning streak continued claiming the overall award, the Dame Lois Muir Supreme Award.

The 2016 Silver Ferns squad will be announced on December 10.
