    Police stations manned by lone officers have become a topic of debate following the weekend assault on Constable Perry Griffen in Kawhia. There are 62 one person police stations like Kawhia’s across the country and the fire service is called in to support police when needed. Kawhia’s chief fire officer Callan Stewart is extremely proud of the volunteers’ efforts on on Friday night.
