Tai Tokerau Maranga Mai E Te Iwi - Te Tārai o Rāhiri

Te Tārai o Rāhiri was established in 1982 to honour the opening of their marae, Te Aroha, in the small settlement of Mangakāhia.

The team naturally made the transition through to the regional qualifiers where they found success in helping to shape and uplift the blossoming kapa haka following in Te Tai Tokerau at the time.

1990 first saw Te Tārai o Rāhiri qualify to represent Te Tai Tokerau at the Aotearoa Māori Performing Arts Festival held in Waitangi, and again in 1992, in Ngāruawāhia, however after their return from Waikato, they took a small hiatus only to be rejuvenated again in 2010, to stand strong once again in this region.

This year, under the leadership of Pita Moon, they returned to nurture kapa haka in Te Tai Tokerau,

Here is Te Tārai o Rāhiri and their whakaeke.
