Tai Wynyard set to stamp his mark on court in America

Basketballer Tai Wynyard has signed his official papers with Kentucky University.  The descendant of Maniapoto, Ngāpuhi and Tainui is ready to stamp his mark on court in America in only four weeks’ time.

In January this year, Wynyard committed to the University of Kentucky Wildcats basketball programme with the aim of joining the team next year.

In August, Wynyard joined the NZ Breakers as a development player maintaining a non-payment contract in order to protect his amateur status.

It's been an important 24 hours for the Wynyards.  Tai's father, Jason Wynyard recently claimed his seventh world title at Stihl Timbersports World Champs.

Tai will feature again at the Māori Sports Awards this month.
