Taniwharau dominate in Tūrangawaewae match over weekend

Rikki Harrison opened the scoreboard, a mistake by Taniwharau proved costly.

But Taniwharau replied with this try to Te Ranginui Taoho, to even up the scores.

Harley Raihe got his side in front with this individual try, beating three defenders to score under the posts.

This impressive try was a result from the team effort by Taniwharau.

Tūrangawaewae were playing into the sun in the first half, hence the errors.  Meanwhile Taniwharau found it easy to open up the defence line, to lead 38-4 at half-time.

It was much the same in the second half. Taniwharau easily opening the defence to score more tries.

Tūrangawaewae scored their second try just before the full time horn, but it was too little too late, Taniwharau winning overall, 92 - 8.

Taniwharau's Harley Raihe explained, "Despite the end score, it was still a hard game.  It's always tough when we come up against our relatives from Tūrangawaewae."
