Te Kapa Haka o Te Whānau a Apanui representing their iwi at Te Matatini 2015

With only 6 days remaining until Te Matatini, our intrepid reporters get behind the scenes with the groups and bring you a glimpse of their preparations.  Tonight we feature Te Kapa Haka o Te Whānau a Apanui.

Performer Naomi Houia tells Taroi Black, "I love kapa haka because it gives me the drive to represent my iwi.  I can also illustrate my genealogy through the stories we tell on stage and I also enjoy performing alongside my team mates."

We also find out about one of their most famous songs written about the moki fish, "Tauti".

Tune in at 5:30pm or 7pm with subtitles for the full report.
