Te Matatini 2015 - Ruatāhuna Kākahu Mauku

Ruatāhuna Kākahu Mauku are no strangers to the national stage, presenting a powerful performance at Pūtaringamotu today.

"Ruatāhuna Kākahu-Mauku Ruatāhuna Paku kore" is the full length of the group's name, which was established in 1970.

The group is tutored by Te Makariini Temara, Tangiora Tawhara, Reremoana Taputu and Ngatai Rangihau, and today their leaders are Ngatai Rangihau and Reremoana Taputu.

Well known as representatives of "Ngā Tamariki o Te Kohu", part of their preparations for Te Matatini 2015 included members taking part in a 7-week fitness challenge to have them ready for the big stage.

"Ko tōku ora, ko tōku Tūhoetanga, ko tōku Tūhoetanga tōku oranga."
