Te Rōpū Taurima reaches confidential settlement with former employees

The Board of Trustees of Te Rōpū Taurima, a taxpayer funded trust providing disability support, has confirmed that a confidential settlement has been reached with two of its former employees and one current employee who raised personal grievances with the Trust.

The settlement was agreed on during an investigation meeting with the Employment Relations Authority.  Te Rōpū Taurima faces allegations of financial irregularities.

In a media statement, the Board said it "accepts that the Trust did not follow correct procedure at all times during the process, and has apologised to Tony Tietie, Annie Du and Tala Poe, who were subject to those processes".

The Serious Fraud Office is now investigating the trust and the Ministry of Health has sent in forensic auditors.
