Tū Ake Māori Performing Arts programme

Tū Ake Māori Performing Arts programme, is delivered by Te Wānanga o Aotearoa.

This is a programme that not only holds so many Ngāpuhi marae together but also helps turn youths dreams in to a reality.

For five months, youth from all over Northland have been learning Māori performing arts, and for some their confidence has lifted.

Tawhi Maxwell of Ngāpuhi believes, this will help him gain confidence in standing on stage.

As a reward to celebrate their hard work, these youngsters have travelled to Auckland to watch Cirque du Soleil's show and Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour.

At next year’s Ngāpuhi Festival, they will have the opportunity to showcase their work.
