Tūhoe prepare for mass homecoming

The tribe has entered a new era with the progression of its settlement and with a new headquarters with a $15mil value being built, this could signal an end to the Ahurei being held in Ruatoki.

The finishing touches are being made for this year's Tūhoe Ahurei.  It's a festival that has been going for over 40 years.

Currently Tūhoe is building its new headquarters in Tāneatua, with a price tag of $15mil, which could signal the end of the Tūhoe Ahurei being held in Ruātoki.

The Tūhoe Ahurei will begin tomorrow morning with the junior competitions kicking off at 9am.
