Tūhoronuku sets date for leadership elections

Ngāpuhi settlement entity Tūhoronuku Independent Mandated Authority (IMA) leadership elections has been set for Friday 11 September 2015.

Today, Tūhoronuku IMA opened nominations for chairman and deputy chairman, which will be voted on at a special board meeting on September 11.

The board agreed to hold the election process in a month's time to allow trustees to seek feedback from hapū and wider Ngāpuhi constituents.

Nominations will close on August 28.

Here are the nominations put forward today at a board meeting in Paihia, including the following trustees nominated for the position of chairman:

- Sam Napia
- Raniera Tau
- Hone Sadler

Nominated for the deputy chairman position:

- Moana Tuwhare
- Kara George
- Hone Sadler

For the past six weeks Sam Napia has been Tūhoronuku IMA’s acting chairman and Moana Tuwhare - deputy chairman, and they will continue in these positions until the elections.
