UB40 still alive and kicking 37 years on

UB40 is one of the world's most well-known reggae bands. The complete band last performed in New Zealand back in 2008 before lead vocalist Ali Campbell left the group to pursue a solo career.

Ali Campbell’s brothers, Duncan and Robin are continuing the bands legacy and headlining next year's Raggamuffin in February.

UB40 have had more than 50 singles in the UK Singles Charts and have been nominated for a Grammy award.

According to Robin Campbell, “Because they love their reggae man, that's what it is they love their reggae. We've been travelling around the pacific now for a long time we've done so many of the islands over the years.”

“It's nice to be coming back, it's nice to be able to show especially our Māori fans that we are still alive and kicking and we have never stopped playing and recording, added Robin Campbell.”
