Warriors win overshadowed by wet fine

A 10-try performance saw the Warriors thrash the Broncos in Brisbane last night.  Final score: 56-18.

But the victory was overshadowed by a $15,000 fine for breaching NRL standards, when Russell Packer urinated on the field prior to the start of the match.

It's not the way the NRL likes for a game to begin, but it was quickly remedied in the fourth minute, when Manu Vatuvei crossed the line to begin proceedings properly.

A marked improvement in execution saw the Warriors complete their first back-to-back wins this season.

The victory included double tries to four of the Warriors players.

It was Thomas Leuluai who dotted down in the 36th minute to be the first to claim his double.

Manu Vatuvei got things started again in the second half, running 73 metres to the goal line to score his eighth try for the season.

The victory is the club's first away win since July last year when they defeated the Titans.

The achievement is attributed to adhering to the team's structures, which yielded 10 tries in total.

The Warriors now sit in 14th place on the competition table, just 4 points outside the top eight.
