Auckland-Manukau kicked off the Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon season, where more than 800 children competition in the annual event.
The competitors, aged 7 to 15 years, competed at the event in either a team of three or individually.
The event consists of a swim, bike and run and the lengths are longer for adult competitors. The event will be held in 14 cities around NZ.
All children who cross the finish line receive a medal.
The second round of the Weet-Bix Kids TRYathalon will be held this Saturday in Rotorua, with the series continuing in the new year in Tauranga on January 11.
