Who will replace Taumalolo?

Chiefs head coach, Dave Rennie, has three pre-season fixtures to find a suitable replacement for loose-head prop, Sona Taumalolo, the standout Tongan international who left to play rugby in France.

Many thought finding a replacement was going to be hard, but Rennie has actually been spoilt for choice, with three hopefuls keen to make their mark.

Which of these newcomers will fill the boots of Sona Taumalolo?

With three new faces to the Chiefs' front row this season, Ben Afeaki says that with Taumalolo gone, there's a big opportunity for one of them.

21-year-old Michael Kainga joins fellow Wellington recruit, Solomona Sakalia.

Former Blues player, Pauliasi Manu, rounds up the trio who are all looking for a break this season.

All three are determined to fill Taumalolo's boots, however, Taumalolo will be a hard act to follow after scoring eight tries in last year's Super Rugby competition.

Toby Smith is another prop under consideration, and his experience is a great asset for the side, while Ben Tameifuna is another looking for a spot.
