Wild weather causes mayhem across the country

A path of devastation and destruction has made its way up the country beginning in the South Island at the start of the week, storming its way through Wellington and hitting the central and upper North Island.

The wrath of the weather gods has battered the country all week as it made its way up the North Island.

Problems surfaced in the Waikato region as heavy rain caused flooding and road closures affecting resident’s daily routines, including a Waitangi Tribunal hearing at Te Kaharoa Marae in Waitetuna just outside Raglan.

Our reporter, Numia Pōnika Rangi, got caught up in the flooding that caused disruptions in Raglan this morning.
