Windy welcome for the Royal Family

They had a bumpy ride touching down at the Royal Air Base in Wellington, but Prince William, Kate and baby George have arrived safely in Wellington.

Reports coming out of England during the weekend spoke of Māori women being instructed to cover up during the welcoming ceremony, but that wasn't an issue for the Royal Family.

In fact, it seemed like William and Kate grew a liking for things Māori, as they greeted the welcoming group.

William and Kate also met Governor-General, Sir Jerry Mateparae, and other NZ representatives, including John Key and his wife, Bronagh.

Tomorrow, Prince William and his wife Kate, and baby George will stay and rest at the house of the Governor-General, and then on Wednesday meet with families from Plunket.
