Young Clark signs with Warriors

Erin Clark is regarded as one of the best players at the NZRL Secondary Schools competition being held in Papakura this week.  After being scouted by several NRL teams this year, the Ngāpuhi lad has signed with the Warriors.

The week however, his focus is with his school, Manurewa High.

A leader amongst his peers, Erin Clark is a league player to watch out for in the near future.

At 16 years old, he's the captain of his school league team, Manurewa High, at this year's NZRL Secondary Schools competition.

The stand-off is a hot commodity, and after being pursued by several NRL teams this year, he recently signed with the Vodafone Warriors.

It was clear to see today why he's regarded as one of the top players at this competition, as he scored three tries in his team's win over Rotorua Boys' High.

Erin is in Year 12 and had the option to join the Warriors full-time next year, but he's thinking of his education.

He hopes his school makes the finals this Friday, which would be an early birthday present for him, with his 17th birthday this Saturday.
